Long Lost

World premiere of a play by Donald Margulies about two brothers struggling with their past while facing tragedy in the present.

Director: Daniel J. Sullivan

University of Illinois: 6/2016

It was truly a great, and humbling, experience to work on the world premiere of a play by a Pulitzer Prize winner directed by a Tony Award winner. The work itself presented an interesting challenge as it necessitated walking a fine line between trying to remain sympathetic to the main character's plight while not ignoring some horrific behavior from his past. The score for this production also went through an about-face right before going into our production week, moving stylistically from a more jazzy feel that more closely echoed Bessie Smith to the track you hear below.
